FELCRA Bhd will invest RM300mil in the next five years to set up a college to help develop second-generation Felcra settlers into capable and progressive human capital for the nation.
Its chairman Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said the college, to be known as Felcra International College, would be built on a 100ha piece of state land in Bandar Baru Seberang Perak near Kampung Gajah.
“We now are waiting for approval from the state government for the said land.
“Construction works of the first phase will commence once we get the approval,” he told reporters after presenting land titles to 108 people at the Dewan Serbaguna Felcra Changkat Lada on Tuesday.
He also presented mock keys to 41 low-cost house recipients.
He added that Felcra would be investing RM60mil in the project’s first phase.
Tajuddin, who is also Pasir Salak MP, said the college would offer industry-related courses based on market needs and demands.
He added that Felcra also planned to upgrade the status of the proposed college to a university-college within five years of commencing operations.
